Abstract

The necessity of anthropological and moral studies stems from the fact that, without identifying moral principles, a person cannot organize their individual life and, accordingly, their social life; moral knowledge depends on self-knowledge. According to Plato, a person who has a bio-ethical intention must gain a correct understanding of himself, the first step of which is to know the parts of the soul and explain the special virtues of man. The issue raised in this regard is how the anthropological attitude of a thinker can influence the formation of his moral theory. Plato analyzes ethics from the perspective of the ego. According to him, what makes a human being a moral being is establishing a balance between the powers of the soul. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of Plato's anthropology on the direction of his moral theory. The authors investigated the mentioned problem with descriptive, analytical, and library collection methods.
